Pwllheli has 2 beaches – South and Glan Y Don. South is the main tourist beach, with a beach shop and toilets. There is a dog restriction on a small stretch of the South beach between peak months. Glan Y Don has a dog ban in place during the same months (April – September).
Well known for it’s row of iconic, brightly coloured beach huts! It is a sand and pebble beach. There is a seasonal café/ice cream shop, along with toilets and parking. Dog friendly at all times.

Also known as ‘Hells Mouth’, Porth Neigwl is a sandy beach. There is a free parking available, and catering vans are dotted around during peak months. There are no toilets, though. This sea here is known for it’s strong rip, and so it is only suitable for strong swimmers. Dog restrictions are in place during the peak season.
A sandy, village beach with plenty of facilities including toilets, picnic tables, shops, cafes and 2 local pubs! The area of the beach next to the village has dog restrictions during the peak months. A very family friendly beach.
Also known as ‘Whistling Sands’, because of the noise the rounded quartz makes beneath your feet when you walk on it. This is a family friendly beach, with a beach-side café and parking facilities. Dog are forbidden between April and September.
Sandy beach with lots of rockpools. Strong swimmers only advised in the sea due to rip tides. Parking and picnic area. Dogs welcome all year.
